Tim- I
love being a Mormon because it has brought me closer to God than anything
else I've experienced. I feel a greater sense of purpose in
life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has strengthened me and my family
relationships. I feel that through living the teachings of the gospel and
relying on my Savior, Jesus Christ, I have received strength and power
beyond my own abilities to face the challenges that life brings. The
future is bright because I know the Lord will not fail or forsake me.
Carolyn- I was raised in a Mormon family but I still
consider myself a convert. I think each person comes to a point in life when
you question the things your parents taught you and have to decide what you
really believe. I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father to tell me if the
church was true. And nothing happened. In fact the more I prayed the more the
heavens seemed to close. It wasn't until a few days later when I was in a
situation that I knew I should share my belief that the church was true. I took
the step of faith to share my testimony even though I felt my prayer had not
been answered. As I spoke I was filled with an overpowering feeling of peace
and love and I knew that this was my answer. After the trail of my faith
I received my witness.
As
life continues every day I continue to experience trials, some of them are more
difficult than others. Although life can be difficult and even seem unfair at
times I would not trade what I gain from these trails for anything. In 1 Peter
chapter 1 verse 7 it says, "That the trial of
your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be
tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the
appearing of Jesus Christ.” I continue to feel the love of my Savior and His
influence every day in my life.
Rachel - Hi! I'm just a ordinary kid that does what any typical teen does.
(i.e. texting nonstop, melodramatic attitude, obsessing over boys-sound
familiar?). But I do have a life (surprisingly), and Mormonism is a huge part
of my life. Being Mormon is not just a walk in the park, especially for a girl
in high school. It takes up a lot of my time too, with different youth
programs, reading my scriptures, personal study, going to church and other
meetings. It's hard when you can't date until you are 16 or go to that party on
Sunday. And I'm definitely not always cheerful when I get up to study the
scriptures as a family at 5:30AM. Then I go to seminary at 6AM to study the
scriptures some more; all before school starts for the day. But all of it is
worth it, because I have a testimony of this gospel and its teachings. If I
didn't have this gospel, I would be nothing. It gives me hope, security, and
confidence. It's more than just a belief, it is something I live!
Sarah- My family is Mormon. I also like being Mormon... it
has helped me become a better person. Being a Mormon isn't just something I
read or believe... it's what I do and it occupies every event in my life. I
know that God lives and he loves every one of us. I know that The Book of Mormon is true and that we had
the steps to eternal life in our hands. They are directions on how to bring us
closer to God. There's is song by Jenny Phillips called "Live it."
and it's about how the gospel of Christ is a part of our lives. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kviHOYtRToc.
This song is how I feel about being Mormon, I love it and I will live it!
Emily-
I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it. Every Wednesday night, girls 12
to 18, go to the church for an activity for an hour and a half. The boys will
join us once a month for these activities. I really like many of these
activities. They are fun and creative.
Laura- I like everything in the church because it is to beautiful and I can feel the Spirit. I like that we learn I like the pictures. I am excited to get baptized when I am 8 next year. I like to learn about Jesus.
